Day 1
Imlil (1,740m) – Discover Imlil Villages Begin your adventure in Imlil, a picturesque village nestled in the High Atlas Mountains. After breakfast, embark on a leisurely hike through the Imlil Valley, visiting traditional Berber villages like Aremd and M’zzik. Explore terraced orchards of apple, walnut, and cherry trees, and admire the mud-brick homes blending into the rugged landscape. Enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Toubkal (4,167m), North Africa’s highest peak, and interact with locals tending crops or weaving handicrafts. Return to Imlil for a relaxing evening at a guesthouse, savoring a hearty dinner of tagine or couscous.
Imlil – Tachdert Village via Tizi n’Tamatert Pass After breakfast, trek from Imlil toward Tachdert Village. The trail ascends through pine forests and valleys to the Tizi n’Tamatert pass (2,279m), offering panoramic views of the Ourika Valley and surrounding peaks. Descend through terraced fields and remote hamlets, passing shepherds with their flocks. Arrive in Tachdert by late afternoon and experience Berber hospitality at a family-run guesthouse. Enjoy a traditional dinner and stargaze in the serene mountain air.
Tachdert – Imlil via Agerseoual Depart Tachdert after breakfast for a scenic hike back to Imlil via Agerseoual, a quiet Berber village surrounded by apple and walnut orchards. The trail winds through terraced farms and valleys, where you’ll see locals harvesting apples or drying walnuts in the sun. Stop in Agerseoual for an authentic Berber tagine lunch, prepared with seasonal vegetables and aromatic spices, hosted by a local family. Continue hiking to Imlil, arriving by mid-afternoon. Check into a comfortable hotel and unwind with a hot shower, followed by a leisurely evening reflecting on your journey.
Imlil – Marrakech by Transport After a leisurely breakfast in Imlil, bid farewell to the Atlas Mountains. Meet your driver for a 1.5-hour private transfer back to Marrakech. The route passes through the Moulay Brahim Gorges and fertile valleys dotted with walnut groves and apple orchards. If time allows, stop in Tahnaout to taste local honey or visit a traditional pottery workshop.
